Why we have name bibs.
The names are set out in waiting area so that the children can learn to recognise their own name. Encourage them to find their own name in a positive way.

Shoes off in the gym - for both guardians and children
Children need to experience the activities with the sensation of bare feet. Gripping and feeling tactile surfaces with their feet while climbing and balancing on the equipment is essential to their motor development.

Safety Note:
Wooden floors (such as our equipment area) can become very slippery when wearing socks. Adults in socks should take due care. Our wooden equipment can also be hard to grip with socks on so if you require your child to wear socks, please ensure they are the non-slip variety (rubber pads on base).

The Circuit.
There are many activities in the circuit. Please do not feel pressured to do everything. Let your child go at his/her own pace, experiencing each activity to the full. There will be some activities your child will want to repeat again and again. They are simply mastering new skills. Our circuit is changed weekly to provide challenges and promote new skills.

Treasure Bag.
Please help your child bring the appropriate toy or book with the picture for the Treasure bag each week. Children love to see their own toy come out of the bag. It creates excellent visual and language stimulation, social interaction and is lots of fun. Weekly themes can be found on our timetable page.

Stamp.
Each child (walking -> 18 months and onwards) is given a stamp on their right hand or right foot at the end of our mat session to reinforce the theme of the week.

Photography
GymbaROO respects all members privacy and we do not permit photography of any type while classes are in progress. If you wish to take a photo / video of your child, please arrange it with a staff member who will allow you to do so after class when no other children or carers are present.

The children are positively encouraged to participate in our mat time session, so our equipment circuit is not used during this time.
